My passion for fine jewellery started when I enrolled myself into a jewellery design school. It has been 12 years from that first class where we just had to draw straight lines for hours. From lines to sparkling diamonds, I have learned new facts about jewellery every day on my journey in the world of precious jewellery.
And now, it is time for me to share my learning. I present to you ‘The Jewellery Book‘… one of the projects, that I am most proud of.
Published by Crystal Arts Publications, THE JEWELLERY BOOK is a 150-page sneak peak into the vaults of the world’s forty-two most renowned jewellery brands.
The jewellery industry is by far the biggest eye candy for any woman across the globe, when compared to its other fashion counterparts. A walk down the London’s Bond Street or a visit to Place Vendome in Paris would certainly make your eyes twinkle for months. The brilliant Diamonds and the mouth-watering gemstones used, are what set these jewels apart from a bag or a shoe. The longevity of these jewels and that one can pass it on to generations add another level of appeal and ‘desire to own’ to these baubles.
Some jewels and jewellery designers have become paragons of the jewellery world and have impressed one and all. ‘The Jewellery Book’ is a collection of such extraordinaire jewels, with stories behind their creations. The book is an effort to look at jewellery and its creators according to four characteristics: Icons of Desire, Intrinsic Nature, Creativity from Within and Style is Forever.
With Sally Hudges as Editor-in-Chief, Preeta A and Pakshal R as co-editors, the book is a resultant of decades of combined work experience and learning in the jewellery industry, talking about every facet of jewellery. The book through its spread of immaculately shot images presents an opportunity to appreciate how jewels, gemstones and gifted craftsmen have been regaling the women folk with indefinably beautiful creations. The book also offers luxurious photographic glimpses into the creations by exclusive brands from the sphere of jewellery conceptualization, finalization and realization.
