The extreme rise in social media existence saw many jewellery brands make their social presence known, but there were some special ones that stole our hearts with their creations, narration, presentation and overall charismatic appeal. ‘RISING STARS of the Jewellery Industry’ is a series I did on my instagram account wherein I had talked about some of the splendid brands that have etched a well-deserved place for themselves in this glamorous jewellery industry. Each of these 14 global brands excels in their craft and shows enormous promise to succeed. Must explore each!

Nirvair by Priya Kaur

The first brand in my list of RISING STARS is @nirvairbypriyakaur. Based in Mumbai, Priya Kaur curates beautifully integrated soulful fine jewellery with faith inscriptions. The iconic Nirvair Kada (bangle) that comes in many shapes and with a variety of inscriptions is her best seller. Her other collections Blossoming Souls, Saar and Akshar also give a new look to jewellery with a meaning that can be completely customised and personalised according to the wearer.

Brumme Design

Next up in my list is @brummedesign, founded and driven by Christina Brummet, it is a Germany based jewellery brand that creates unique jewellery pieces. The magnificence of her one-of-a-kind creations is as alluring as the story behind each design, the gemstones used and are artistically inspired by the world around us. The brilliant Brumme creation, FUJI ring (image 5) embellished with a rainbow garnet mineral, won the third prize at the 50th German Jewellery and Gemstone Awards.

Athvlya by Pramiti Goenka

Next in the list of rising stars is New Delhi based Athvlya @athvlyabypramitigoenka, the creative brand of Pramiti Goenka- a fine jewellery label curating jewels that represent Indian heirloom concepts elegantly integrated in modern designing. Intricately handcrafted, Athvlya jewels are embellished with a wide variation of gorgeous colored stones like Burmese rubies, Ceylon Sapphires, Tanzanites and the like. Unique designs built with fabulous craftsmanship makes Athvlya greatly admired and esteemed for designing bespoke jewellery pieces.

Phenix by JohariPoonam

‘Phenix’ @phenix_byjoharipoonam, an extension of the main jewellery brand @johari_poonam, is a vision of Poonam Goenka where she gives new meanings to precious old jewels. Putting her design skills to use, Poonam retains the sentiments of the old pieces and gives them a new look that is in tune with the current fashion trends. In this fast-growing era of mass-produced jewellery, her uniqueness lies in complete customisation; specialising in providing personalised jewellery solutions for old jewellery.

Kaltham’s Pavilion

Next up is one of my favourites- @kalthamspavilion_qa, a Doha based unique jewellery brand by Kaltham Al Majid who narrates precious stories with her elegance and embodies Qatari culture in her jewellery with grace. Her delicate and charming jewellery is a perfect accessory to lift your mood and when it comes wrapped in her unique style, it can make anyone’s day! Her Pink Obsession Collection is set with dainty pink sapphire marquises is a favourite amongst Doha’s elite!

Maison Yashasvi

@maison.yashasvi started by Kolkata’s award winning jewellery designer, Yashasvi, a 3rd generation jeweller who is now setting her own rules! With over 10 years of experience in conceptualization and detailed aspects of jewellery making, Yashasvi has won many accolades like the bird ring in image 1 that was recently awarded the Best Couture Jewellery under 5 lakhs at the JJS-IJ Jeweller’s Choice Design Awards 2020. She is known for detailed designing and intricacy in the craftsmanship as she creates unique confluences of gemstone, diamonds and intricate gold work and is the soul behind her new label YASHASVI.

Studio Tara

Let’s travel to Chennai. Bharathi Raviprakash, founder of the unique brand @studio_tara, is passionate about curating unique jewellery that perfectly compliments the ever evolving twenty first century woman such as her fearless collections Dali, Frutti and Mulino. Bharathi fervently believes in creating jewels that are grounded in their natural essence. The embellished stones are untreated and unheated before use; making them close to Mother Nature. With a rich expertise of more than 16 years, she effortlessly understands and curates according to the changing times. Thus, quality, exclusivity and a personal touch are embodied in her brand Studio Tara.

D’atelier

@datelier.india, passionately founded by Deena Dhinakaran, is a Chennai-based unique jewellery brand to have freshly stepped into the industry. Her remarkable designs and concepts can leave one awestruck. One can find a perfect the simplicity of modern aesthetics and the hints of Indian culture perfectly balanced in her creations. With her beautifully conceptualized designs that each have a story to tell, she aims to narrate her way into the industry.

Mocielli

@mocielli_jewels, a London based fine jewellery brand founded by Malgorzata Mozolewska, is inspired by feminine archetypes ingrained deep in our beings and strives to be a precious reminder of the virtues and strengths we carry within. The human touch of traditional craftsmen, focus on the ornamentation, transformation and finer details are a crucial element to Mocielli designs. Love her jewellery transformations, so chic and flawless in their mechanism.

Sarah Kobak

The next talented designer on my list is @sarah.kobak_jewellery.design based out of Netherlands. Her classy, vibrant, bold designs epitomize and aim to empower today’s tenacious women. Sarah’s signature style is working with granules, quality colored gemstones and mother of pearls. Each embellished jewel in her design is intricately chosen after thorough research and impeccably handcrafted by herself. The sprinkle of gold granules is very unique to Sarah’s style and has become a recognisable element that one can find in all her jewels.

Dangleterre

@dangleterre_paris, the creative genius of Ségolène Dangleterre, is an emerging jewellery brand that holds execptional values and curates through brilliant techniques. Dangleterre jewels are an assertion of self, ornaments that stand to express and are the pure delineation of a free spirit. The modern designs aim to go beyond genres and clichés; nestling in unique personalities and diverse characteristics. Dangleterre designs are made with untreated natural stones and recyclable gold to curate sustainable, natural, phenomenal jewels. My favourite elements are the bold shapes and forms that these jewels portray!

NeverNoT X Ilaria Lanzoni

Next in the list is not one but two rising stars – @never_not and @ilarialanzoni. NeverNoT’s new capsule collection, ‘Life in Colour’ in collaboration with Ilaria Lanzoni, a renowned Jewellery Designer, who has launched her own namesake brand. Jewels by NeverNoT, based in London, are a joyful symbol of escape, embodying cultural exploration, the meeting of new people and meaningful interactions. The ‘always on’ philosophy is at the core of the name and brand, for NeverNoT believes jewellery shouldn’t spend most of its life in a box. And nor should you!

‘Life in colour’ is thus a collaboration of these two rising brands and was born by fusing beautiful eye pieces drawn by Ilaria with bright and happy colours added by NeverNot, with its ‘never boring’ philosophy. The joyful collection represents the love through eyes, symbolising protection, connection with each other – no matter how far we are and what challenges we endure.

Vanessa Martinelli

Switzerland based @vanessamartinelli_jewellery who creates jewels that beautifully express a Swiss-Italian passion for life and beauty. Martinelli designs are vibrant as well as luxurious, playfully embellished with colored gemstones to celebrate the finer things of life; like her super fun candy collection and the squirrels. Her exquisite designs are bedecked with uniquely coloured gems whose appeal lies in their infinite variety of hues, lending wings to the beholder.

Nicoline Van Boven

@nicolinevanboven is a fine jewellery designer based in the Netherlands. Her elegant designs are crafted for today’s confident and effervescent women. Her signature style is curating commendable jewels in a variety of geometrical patterns. Each of her design is symbolic and has a story to tell.
Inspired by the majestic beauty of nature, her ‘Floral’ collection symbolises life, love, happiness, abundance and fertility. Her most loved design are the rose rings.
