Six months ago, one of India’s most luxurious jewellery brand- Nirav Modi, announced their expansion outside Indian shores to Hong Kong and New York. Soon, like a wildfire, the announcement became one of the most talked about topics in the high-end jewellery retail circles and the boutique launches became the most looked forward to.
After the much-deserved wait, the Nirav Modi New York boutique was launched at the famous Madison Avenue, home to some of the choicest brands of the world. A grand celebration, attended by Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities, style influencers and New York’s most elite marked the opening of the boutique.
“Establishing a presence in the United States is a key milestone of our growth strategy as a leading international luxury brand,” said Nirav Modi, founder of the eponymous brand. “The sophisticated American woman will recognize, as soon as she enters the boutique, that each jewel and the entire experience is designed to pay tribute to her beauty, and to make her look and feel ‘everyday spectacular’.”
The boutique dressed in pastel shades of pink and windows adorned with paper craft display make the jewellery stand out and catches attention. Leading up to the New York grand launch, NIRAV MODI displayed the renowned Maharani Diamond Necklace and Earrings set, valued at $1.65 million, in the window, setting the stage for the kind of luxury items now available at the boutique. Visitors to the store discovered a full selection of exquisite NIRAV MODI designs from his various collections.
Coinciding with the launch was my interview with Mr. Nirav Modi ‘The Unconventional Indian Jeweller’, done for the VO+ Magazine’s Fall issue launched in September 2015. Read on to know how the leading diamantaire is armed to take over the high-end jewellery retail space in New York. The interview was published both in Italian as well as English.
